I'm just going to put my iTunes on shuffle and write a blurb about each song.
Also of interest - I found a typo in "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" today. They accidentally used 'site' instead of 'sight'. It made me sad. :(
1. "From Where You Are" - Lifehouse. This was the first single off Lifehouse's latest cd Who We Are. It's probably one of the most honest, calming songs in my library.
Favorite Line: "I miss you/I wish you were here."
2. "You Could Be Happy" - Snow Patrol. Extremely strong melody. This song just makes me feel good inside, the tinkling bells, the honest lyrics. A guy wants to know she's happy. Wants her to go after what will make her happy. I love that.
Favorite Line: "You could be happy/I don't know/You weren't happy the day I let you go." Or maybe, "More than anything/I want to see you girl/Take a glorious bite/Out of the whole world."
3. "When You Were Young" - The Killers. Not my favorite by the Killers. Still good stuff.
Favorite Line: "And sometimes you close your eyes/and see the place where you used to live/When you were young.
4. "Burn Out Bright" - Switchfoot. Awesome, awesome, awesome. Have I mentioned, I like Switchfoot? Not yet? Well, guess what. I DO. This is a song about how live your life in a way that allows you to burn out bright. Right on, men.
Favorite Line: "There's still fire in you yet/Yeah/There's still fire in you."
5. "I Will Be" - Leona Lewis. This is a song that has gradually grown on me into probably my favorite song by Leona. Simple, beautiful.
Favorite Line: "I will be all that you are."
